Frank Lloyd Wright was born June 8, 1867. He was originally born Frank Lincoln Wright, but later changed his middle name to Lloyd. Frank's mother, Anna Lloyd Jones, was a school teacher. His father, William C. Wright, was a preacher and a musician. Frank grew up in many different states, such as Iowa, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Wisconsin. In 1889, Frank married Kathy Thoman, and they would later give birth to 6 children. Frank is most famous for a 70-year career as an architect. 1,141 various types of buildings were designed by him. 532 of the designs were completed, but only 409 of them still stand today. From 1916-1922 he worked on the Imperial Hotel in Japan. In the years 1934, 1938, and 1948 he designed the Fallingwater house in Pennsylvania. Frank died on April 9, 1959 in Phoenix, Arizona.
